Nigerian rapper Onome Onokohwomo, also known as Yung6ix, has shared how he almost lost his life during an armed robbery in Downtown Los Angeles.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Yung6ix revealed that the robbers shot at him, but the bullet missed. He described the experience as shocking and thanked God for protecting him. He also credited his safety to his mother’s prayers.
He wrote:
“I just want to thank God for working harder than the devil. They tried to rob me in DTLA and damaged my car. I haven’t been this shocked in a long time. I’m grateful. My mom’s prayers are working.
“We’re still trying to find where the bullet passed because I was in the car. This is mind-blowing. I thought the guy was going to kill me. God forbid! Is that how I could have just died yesterday? God is really working overtime for me.”
I thought this guy was gonna kill me bro, I swear on blood of Jesus.

This is the second time in a week that a Nigerian celebrity has shared a story about being attacked by robbers. A few days ago, Nigerian DJ Nonso Temisan Ajufo, known as DJ Big N, said he was robbed and shot while in South Africa.

Unlike Yung6ix, DJ Big N was injured in the attack, as we reported here. He was shot in the leg, and the robbers took valuables worth $114,000 from him and a friend. In an Instagram post, DJ Big N called it the worst and most eye-opening experience of his life. He also thanked God and his mother’s prayers for keeping him alive.
