World Covid-19 Deaths Cross 355k Mark


Coronavirus deaths the world-over are estimated to be 355,701.

Also, confirmed covid-19 cases globally have increased to 5,695,968.

This is according to the Johns Hopkins University.

It says affected regions remain unchanged at 188.

The US remains the worst-hit country, with its deaths now more than 100,000.

Brazil recorded on Wednesday, May 27, recorded an estimated 1,000 deaths and 20,000 fresh cases, remaining the second most infected nation.

Nigeria’s deaths increased from 249 to 254 on Wednesday, May 27 as reported by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC). Also, Nigeria’s confirmed cases increased to 8,733, on Wednesday May 27 after recording some 389 new cases.

Ghana’s confirmed cases also jumped to 7,303 on Wednesday night, May 27. African Entertainment has gathered that Ghana’s Information Ministry is to hold a press conference on Thursday, May 29, to update citizens on the case counts, as deaths related to the virus are reported to be 34 in Ghana.

Across the continent, the
Africa reported 119,745 cases of Covid-19 as at May 27.

The Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (AfricaCDC) announced this in its latest update on Twitter.

Africa has also recorded some 49,194 recoveries from the infection.

Deaths have unfortunately risen to 3,594.
