Afrobeats singer song writer and performer Wizkid yesterday made a rare public appearance.
This was the first time the “Soco” singer was seen since his mother’s death at the special opening night private exhibition of “Gabrielle Chanel. Fashion Manifesto” at the famous Victoria and Albert Museum in London on September 13, 2023.
The musician was dressed to impress in a black ensemble, and he appeared melancholy but composed as he interacted with other participants at the event. He was observed ogling the vintage Chanel couture garments, fabrics, images, and accessories that were on exhibit.
Wizkid made his first public appearance at the Chanel event after his mother Jane Dolapo died away on August 18, 2023. On social media, his admirers showed their support and conveyed how thrilled they were to see him.

The “Essence” singer’s participation in the private exhibition is indicative of his standing as an afrobeats tastemaker and ambassador. He has established himself as one of Nigeria’s most fashionable entertainers, frequently seen wearing expensive clothing from labels like Dolce & Gabbana. His participation in the Chanel event highlights his escalating reputation as a major global fashion figure.
