MTV Base’s fundraising concert, ‘Africa Day Benefit Concert at Home’ was hosted by British actor and DJ, Idris Elba.
Leading music acts from across Africa, on Monday 25, 2020, performed for the benefit of raising funds for Covid-19 victims in Africa.
The Africa Day stay-at-home concert by MTV Base in collaboration with YouTube streamed live on the streaming platform with performances from African stars including Sauti Sol, Angelique Kidjo, Bobi Wine, Burna Boy, Davido, Diamond Platnumz, AKA, Yemi Alade, Fally Ipupa, Busiswa, Nandy, Tiwa Savage, Sho Madjozi among others.
Speaking on the concert, YouTube’s Managing Director of Emerging Markets in the Middle East and Africa, Alex Okosi shared: “YouTube is proud to be a platform for the amazing talent that have come to celebrate Africa Day and play a role in helping raise funds for those affected by Covid-19 on the continent”.
