Unknown deadly sickness kills 3 people in Tanzania, 13 cases recorded so far

A yet to be known deadly sickness has reportedly killed three people in Tanzania.

Local media reports monitored by African Entertainment revealed that the deaths were recorded in the south of Tanzania.

Reports say at least a total of 13 cases have been recorded in Lindi Region.

Patients are reported to be having symptoms similar to Ebola or Marburg virus.

Also, patients are reported to be experiencing fever, severe headaches, fatigue and bleeding, especially from the nose.

However, Tanzania’s health ministry has stated that preliminary lab tests results rule out the Ebola and Marburg viruses in these cases.

Investigations are said to be ongoing to identify the sickness.

Reports say contact tracing was ongoing and five people were currently in isolation.

Meanwhile,  the country’s Chief medical officer Dr Aifelo Sichalwe has asked Tanzanians to remain calm as investigations continue.
