A devastating incident has shaken the community in Bauchi State, Nigeria, after a 20-year-old security guard, Polmi Dauda, was brutally beaten to death over allegations of theft.
According to reports, the incident occurred near Larema Hotel, where Polmi worked as a security guard. An altercation broke out between Polmi and several individuals, resulting in severe injuries that ultimately led to his death.
The Bauchi State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of four individuals in connection with Polmi’s tragic death. The suspects, identified as Ibrahim Yahaya, Musa Awwal, Imrana Ibrahim, and Zakariya’u Isah, are currently in police custody and cooperating with the investigation.
The police investigation revealed that the altercation may have started over accusations that Polmi stole a tenant’s clothes and personal items. However, the circumstances surrounding the incident are still being investigated as a possible homicide.
The deceased’s body has been deposited at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH) mortuary for a postmortem examination. The police have urged the public to remain calm, assuring that justice will be served.
