According to reports, Ajayi was arrested on January 12, 2025, while attempting to dispose of Salome’s dismembered remains. He confessed to the crime, explaining that it was not premeditated but rather a result of frustrations from their troubled relationship. Ajayi alleged that he had discovered Salome’s infidelity through her phone, which led him to act out of anger.
When asked if he had any regrets, Ajayi responded negatively, stating that life is reciprocal. He believed that he and Salome were compatible, despite their troubled relationship.
Salome’s family expressed shock and sorrow over the brutal nature of the crime. Her elder sister, Esther Adaidu, demanded justice, stating that the family had no prior knowledge of Ajayi. Salome’s uncle, Samson Adaji Adaidu, described the crime as brutal, alleging that Ajayi had dismembered Salome’s body into over 50 parts.
The Police Public Relations Officer for the Nasarawa State Command, SP Ramhan Nansel, assured that justice would be served. He stated that investigations are ongoing and that Ajayi would be arraigned in court for prosecution once concluded.
Despite rumors that Ajayi was a gospel singer, he clarified in an interview with Channels Television that he works as a cryptocurrency trader. He remains in custody at the CID of the Nasarawa State Police Command as investigations continue.
