US star golfer, Tiger Woods, has released a statement mourning the late George Floyd.
Floyd was murdered by a former Minneapolis police officer, Derek Michael Chauvin, on Monday, May 25, 2020.
In a tweet sighted by African Entertainment, Woods says his heart goes out to the Floyd’s family and “all of us who are hurting right now.”
According to him, he has “always had the utmost respect for our law enforcement.”

He added that “They train so diligently to understand how, when and where to use force. This shocking tragedy clearly crossed that line.”
Tiger Woods is among a growing list of athletes who have shared their thoughts on George Floyd’s death and the protests that have followed.
Other athletes like
Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and LeBron James have also commented on the death.
Chauvin knelt on George Floyd’s neck for about 8 minutes 46 seconds, leading to his death.
There have been violent and bloody protests across the US for seven days as a result of George’s death.
