Nigerian singer Tems has thanked veteran musician Seyi Sodimu for allowing her to use his 1999 hit song Love Me Jeje in her Grammy-winning track of the same name.
On Sunday night, Tems won the Best African Music Performance award at the 67th Grammy Awards. Taking to her official X (former Twitter), she showed appreciation for Sodimuās support, calling his original song a ātimeless classicā and thanking him for letting her sample it.
“I just want to thank the amazing @seyimusic for supporting me and clearing his original song Love Me Jeje,ā Tems wrote. āItās made me appreciate the original even more, and Iām happy itās getting the recognition it deserves. Thank you for your love and support.ā

Sodimu replied, calling Tems a āspecial kindā and saying he is proud of her. āThank you, Princess. You are truly special. You deserve this and so much more. The best is yet to come. So proud of you @temsbaby,ā he wrote.
