Syrian President, Bashar Hafez al-Assad has reportedly won his 4th 7-year term.
According to reports, he won Syria’s 2021 presidential race with 95.1 percent of the vote.
Syrians in the city of duma, a former rebel zone, located east of Syrian capital Damascus, participated in the presidential election for the first time since 10 years of war, international media reports monitored by African Entertainment revealed.
What do we know about Mr al-Assad?
Mr al-Assad, who has held on to power despite deadly uprisings, is the 19th President of Syria.
He has been in power since 2000 and he is the commander-in-chief of the Syrian Armed Forces and regional secretary of the Arab Socialist Ba’ath Party’s branch in Syria.
He was born September 11, 1965 (age 55 years) in Damascus, Syria.
