Ghanaian dancehall artist, Shatta Wale, has savagely replied artist manager, Nana Asiamah, popularly known as Bulldog over his claim that Black Sherif’s debut album will do better than his (Shatta Wale) and Sarkodie’s upcoming albums.
Bulldog had, in an interview with Doreen Avio on Daybreak Hitz, noted that Sarkodie and Shatta Wale’s upcoming albums cannot compete with Black Sherif’s debut album titled ‘The Villain I Never Was’.
Black Sherif released his album on Thursday, October 6, 2022 and as www.africanentertainment.com earlier reported, within less than 24 hours ‘The Villain I Never Was’ album amassed over 70 million streams on Audiomack alone.
Shatta Wale will release his “Gift of God” album on October 17, while Sarkodie is expected to release his “Jamz” album on November 11 this year.
Bulldog says Black Sherif’s involvement with companies like EMPIRE puts him miles ahead of other Ghanaian artists.
According to him, “I woke up this morning and I was like wow, this month of October is a serious month because we have three of our artists releasing. Black Sherif just released, Sarkodie will release in a few days, then Shatta will release. Now listen, from the top of my head I said Black Sherif will do better than all of them.”
Making his case, Bulldog said “If you look at the numbers, Black Sherif has a label. Shatta is about to compete with Empire (Black Sherif’s record label), Sarkodie is about to compete, they don’t have the strength to do that, they don’t. Empire is a subsidiary of all the Warners and all that, they don’t have the power, in terms of reach Blacko will do better, unless some a miracle. But you see music has changed in the system…you can’t do this alone. It’s not about the talent, its about the reach.”
But Shatta Wale believes such comparisons are needless.
In his post sighted by www.africanentertainment.com on Facebook, Shatta Wale, real name Charles Nii Armah Mensah, indicated that it wouldn’t be a bad thing for Black Sherif’s Album to do better than his and that of Sarkodie.
Writing partly in pidgin and English, Shatta Wale said “eeerrrhhh if Blacko’s album will do better than us kwraaa, we like and we hear…at the end of the day Ghana wins…foolish people…”
Hitting Bulldog hard, Shatta Wale wrote: “All be money matter – you too find something to do and stop Nonsense..Make money in your own way !!”
