Stonebwoy believes if the business of marijuana is viable, he may consider investing in the area.
In March this year, Parliament passed the Narcotics Control Commission Bill 2019.
President Nana Akufo-Addo is expected to assent the bill to give legal backing to the growing of some cannabis for health purposes.
The Bill empowers the Minister for Interior in consultation with other institutions like Ministry of Health to grant licenses for the production of cannabis of not more than 0.3 per cent Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) for industrial and medicinal purposes.
Touching on the topic in an interview at Accra-based Hitz FM, Stonebwoy indicated that government is legalizing the herb for a reason, particularly due to its viability.
The ‘nominate’ hitmaker said ”once the government that regulates the use of marijuana has legalized the cultivation because it knows the purpose and why somethings have to happen. The government will not just commercialize the export of marijuana, they did it because they know how viable it is so as a private businessman if I look at it and if it’s viable why not?”
