Domestic air travels in South Africa are expected to resume in June 2020, according to reports.

A blueprint for the resumption of flights at the domestic level has been put in place by the
Airports Company South Africa (ACSA), African Entertainment is informed.

The flights, reports say, are to take place during coronavirus lockdown within about two weeks from now.

But that accordingly will be subject to approval of ACSA’s proposals by the South African Government.

A June 1 return date has been targeted. And during that time, the Level 3 of lockdown is expected to be implemented across most of South Africa.

CEO of ACSA, Nompumelelo Mpofu,
is looking forward to a return to limited domestic air travel in Level 3 on June 1, with strict social distancing measures to apply.

Limited number of flights are to be allowed per day, with each requiring special authorisation to fly.

ACSA is considering prioritising air travel on the ‘Golden Triangle’ between Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban, reports say.
