Nigerian singer, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun known as Wizkid and fast-rising female singer, Temilade Openiyi known as Tems wins big at the 2022 American Music Awards (AMAs).
Wizkid won the inaugural Afrobeats category at the 2022 American Music Awards.
Wizkid who was part of the first-ever nominees for the favorite Afrobeats Artist at the 2022 American Music Award, was nominated alongside Burna Boy, Tems, CKay, and Fireboy all of whom enjoyed considerable success in the United States in the year 2022.
Wizkid’s song ” Essence” featuring Tems and Justin Bieber, won the Favorite R&B Award amongst other nominated top singers or musicians.
While Tems also won two awards – Favorite R&B with song, ‘Essence’ and Favorite Hip Hop for her contribution to Future’s ‘Wait For U’.
