Award-winning singer Nathi Mankayi opens up about losing his parents in a matter of weeks due to Covid.
The singer had previously commented on it on his birthday.
“Kweziveki zimbini zidlulileyo I lost my dearest mother and father in a matter of days and experienced the darkest days of my life.
I felt and still feel pain in ways that I cannot put into words. With that said, today I celebrate my first birthday without them in my life.
Today I dedicate my birthday day to celebrate them!
Lalani ngoxolo mama no tata.”
He has now come out to reveal that they succumbed to Covid 19 complications.
Talking to City Press Nathi says: “It is really strong and people should take care of themselves in these times it is dangerous and it is here. It’s a terrible thing to see someone was full of life sick and then dying from this Covid 19.”
He also lashed out at the disease for not giving people a chance as it can get fatal very quickly. On his mom, Nathi recalls being called and told: “She was shaking was having difficulty breathing, this was at maybe 7 a.m and around 10 a.m, we got another call saying she was gone. You see how short the time was?
Although he suffered a big blow personally, professionally he is back in the scheme of things. The talented muso bagged a new television show, Hush Money. The Nomvula hitmaker has been brought on to produce music for the forthcoming series.
It has been reported that the star has already recorded a single for the production titled Gazi. The show is still in production.
