Nigerian music sensation, Shallipopi has made a significant mark on the 2023 music scene with his unique blend of Bini culture, Hip Hop, and Afrobeats. He at the start of this week took a bold step by unveiling his very own record label. Shallipopi, who is already associated with Dapper Music, left fans in awe as he introduced his self-established record label, Plutomania Records, alongside the introduction of two talented artists, Zerryl and Tega Boi, who have joined his label.
Shallipopi’s remarkable journey in 2023 was highlighted by his EP, ‘Planet Pluto,’ which produced chart-topping singles like ‘Elon Musk,’ ‘Obapluto,’ and ‘Ex-Convict.’
His outstanding achievements didn’t go unnoticed as he was recognized as one of the five emerging artists by Apple Music, coinciding with the celebration of Nigeria’s 63rd independence. The list featured his fellow breakout sensation of 2023, ODUMODUBLVCK, who bagged the Rookie of the Year award at the 2023 Headies. Also, artists like Seyi Vibez, who claimed the Best Street Hop song title for ‘Chance,’ fast-rising Mavin signee Bayyani, and gospel sensation Victor Thompson were part of the distinguished list.
Adding to his success, Shallipopi recently released two new singles, ‘Things on Things’ and ‘Oscroh,’ with the latter soaring to the top of Apple Music Nigeria’s Top 100 and Spotify Nigeria’s Top 50 charts. With the launch of his own record label and the introduction of promising new talents, Shallipopi is poised to further extend his dominance in the mainstream music scene.
