Rwanda has celebrated the 28th anniversary of the 1994 genocide.
The celebration took place on Thursday, April 7, 2022.
It would be recalled that about one million ethnic Tutsis were killed Hutus militias over a period of 100 days.
Those killed were mostly beaten, hacked, and shot to death.

The national mourning period will last for one week, while commemoration activities will continue until July 3, ahead of Liberation Day celebrations on July 4.
