Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has categorically ruled out the possibility of captain Bruno Fernandes joining Real Madrid at the end of the season. Recent reports had suggested that Real Madrid was considering a £90m bid to bring the Portugal midfielder to the Santiago Bernabeu.

However, speaking ahead of Manchester United’s trip to Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night, Amorim dismissed the rumors, saying, “It’s not going to happen.” The manager emphasized that Fernandes is a crucial player for Manchester United, and the club wants to keep him.

I want Bruno here. We want to win the Premier League again, we want the best players with us. He is still so young because he plays 55 games every season. Between assists and goals, he is there for 30 at least. He is the player we want here, he is not going anywhere,” Amorim said.

Fernandes joined Manchester United from Sporting Lisbon in 2020 and has since become an integral part of the team. His current deal with the Red Devils will expire in 2027, and Amorim is confident that the midfielder will remain at the club.

We are in control of the situation. I feel that he is really happy here. He understands what we want to do,” Amorim added.

The reassurance from Amorim will come as a relief to Manchester United fans, who have grown accustomed to Fernandes’ impressive performances on the pitch.
