George Ojwang

A retired Kenyan footballer is said to be in need of help to undergo a heart surgery.

George Ojwang, described by local newspaper, Daily Nation, as Kenya’s unsung football hero, was accordingly diagnosed with the heart disease in December 2018.

His health condition is said to have worsened.

His body accordingly swells if he does not drugs for the heart condition.

He is an ex-Kenyan Premier League side Scarlet FC player.

“The doctor told me that if I don’t take drugs my body retains body fluids, resulting in the swelling,” Ojwang’ is quoted to have said.

Reports say the ex-footballer is supposed to go for specialised heart surgery in India but lacks money.

“I could not walk. My legs started swelling like someone suffering from elephantiasis,” according to him.

“I think about what could happen to me all the time. Every time I get off the sofa I fear I may pass out because I have no money to buy drugs. I’m careful, I don’t walk quickly.”
