‘RESHUFFLE YOUR MINISTERS TO BRING A CHANGE IN THEIR PERFORMANCES, MR. PRESIDENT’

CEO of AVCONTECH Security Masters Nana Kwaku Ofori Atta has petitioned president Nana Akufo-Addo to as a matter of urgency reshuffle his Ministers to ensure efficiency in their respective fields.

And commenting on the President ‘s recent interview on Kumasi based Otech FM he said “Mr. President, I had the opportunity to listen to your interview on Otech FM in kumasi and the host asked you critical questions concerning your failure to reshuffle your ministers and the answer you gave was that their work was very satisfactory to you.
“Well, I understand your opinion but sir I beg to disagree with you on that as a concerned citizen. If l may ask, the good people of Ghana entrusted their sovereignty (power) into your hands, believing that you will form a solid team to manage the affairs of Ghana but Sir, it seems you are speaking for yourself without considering the humble plea of the same people upon whose sovereignty you rule.”
He added “I believe the expression you used “I’m satisfied with their performance” is unacceptable. I am of the view that the good people of Ghana have the legal right to speak against the poor performances of certain individuals whom you have appointed as ministers and as part of your government to assist you manage the nation’s affairs.

“The people have every right, per their judgment of your Ministers, to plead with you to do reshuffling due to their (Ministers) inability to perform creditably.
“For example, the shutdown of the various tollbooths across the country by your Roads Minister, was a bad move that was going to plunge the country into serious unemployment issues.
“Those who lost their jobs at the tollbooths as levy collectors were mostly disabled people . I am in the known that some were fixed somewhere to get some jobs and get something for themselves but what about the masses who had no replacement jobs?”
The astute business mogul pointed out that “Again, if the tollbooths closure decision was brought to your desk, sent to cabinet and then parliament for approval before it’s announcement, then why is it going to be brought back? Was that a wise and great initiative?
“Again you fired the then Minister for Energy and according to him, during one of his interviews, he made mention that no explanation was given to Ghanaians for his dismissal. The dismissed Energy Minister, Hon. Kwabena Agyarko was on Radio and during an interview he made mention of him recieving a phone call from the Chief of staff to handover his office without any reasons given to him.
“If I may ask, was that the right way to dismiss a minister of state? Was his work not satisfactory to you then?
“Sir, don’t you think the people of Ghana serve as monitors of your government and therefore have the right to demand for reshuffling, depending on their observations?

Could it be that the people around you give you wrong informations as speculated by other patriots of Ghana?

“I am of the firm belief that Ghanaians have the right to criticize your ministers, especially those found not performing but are rather going round hosting press conferences that at the end of the day, proves their incompetence due to the inconsistencies in their statements.

“I would plead with you to have your ears on the ground, rather than listening to certain people around you who allegedly give you wrong information, that tarnishes your hard earned reputation as the president of the nation.

“It is in the best interest of the good people to observe and scrutinize your government and raise worrying concerns for you to address them adequately without any fear or favor. I know you to be a principled person and for that matter more is expected of you as President.

“Sir, is the level of confidence the people had in you whiles you were seeking for their votes the same currently?”

He stated that “How often do you adequately and properly look into the numerous allegations brought to your desk by people without shielding anyone within your government?

“On the issue of galamsey, several allegations have been thrown at most of your ministers and senior members of your government, especially the Ashanti Regional chairman of your party in the person of Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known by all as Chairman Wontumi.

” Mr President, what measures have you taken to look into these allegations?

Let’s talk about the finance minister. Has he performed to the expectations of the good people of Ghana? If yes then please explain further for the ordinary people to understand you well rather than defending him and creating doubts in the minds of Ghanaians as you shielding him.
“Mr president, in your interview, you also made mention of planting for food and jobs; you went further by saying that there is no shortage of food across the country and you see it as a good initiative.
” Yes it is but if I may ask, what are the prices of food currently in the country? Are citizens able to buy them at affordable prices? “Why are prices of food products extremely expensive in our markets if the planting for food and jobs is a good policy and has lived to expectation?

“Let’s forget about the world economic crisis and focus on our motherland where you brought the policy of planting for food and jobs through your Agric minister; what went wrong?

Again you made mention of your finance minister handling our economy well and making it one of the best in the world. What happened all of a sudden? If i may ask, are we still going to the IMF for loans to support our nation’s economic growth, since you were against this same initiative taken by the then NDC party?

” What did you mean by you wouldn’t have retained the finance minister if he had performed abysmally in your first term? Has he performed to the expectations of Ghanaians to restore hope in the economy by working out measures to curb the constant decline of our cedi against the Dollar?
“What is the current state of our currency?
There are pressing issues that needs to be looked at critically without bias or favor and I believe when you have this retrospective look into your government appointees and their work done so far, you will agree with the populace and do the needed changes.Thank you.”
