UPDATE: Abba Kyari reportedly died in a Lagos based hospital at about 9:00 pm on Friday, April 17, 2020. The hospital, First Cardiology Consultants, was not an accredited centre for the treatment of the virus.
According to multiple reports, the private funeral rights of the recently deceased Abba Kyari is ongoing.
The remains of the former Chief of Staff to President Buhari arrived Abuja from Lagos at about 11:00 am on Saturday, April 18, 2020, as confirmed by Bashir Ahmad, PA to the President on New Media.
The 81-year-old Statesman is being buried according to Islamic rites.

Ahmad’s announcement coupled with pictures making the rounds from Kyari’s burial have caused an instant uproar by Nigerians.
