President Buhari celebrates Nigerian women on International Women’s Day

President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has celebrated Nigerian women on the occasion of this year’s International Women’s Day.

In a post on his Facebook page, the President said “On the occasion of International Women’s Day (IWD), March 8, 2022, I celebrate all Nigerian women.”

He added that “IWD is always an opportunity to reflect on the vital roles women play in society, homes, governance, the professions, and in all walks of life.”

According to him, “While Nigerian women are not yet where they should be in different spheres of endeavor, I firmly believe that they can no longer be deprived for too long, as they consistently prove that they can hold their own on all fronts, and in all fields.”

“I applaud the contributions of women to the current administration as Ministers, Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, Executive Directors, Executive Secretaries, and many others; pulling their weights and making it impossible for anyone to downplay their essence.”

“I pray that God will grant our women peace, joy and satisfaction today and always, as we celebrate #IWD2022.”
