The English Premier League have reportedly stated that they support a presentation of trophy to Liverpool if they are declared Champions.
But that will only be done if it is safe to do so.
“You want to give those players and the whole staff the moment they worked so hard for, if that’s what happens. Yes, we would try and do it,” Masters says.
Chief Executive of Premier League,
Richard Masters, accordingly confirmed he will support plans for a presentation should the social and public health situation allow it.
He says “If at all possible, yes, you’d like to have a trophy presentation.”
Liverpool are 25 points clear at the top of the 2019/2020 season’s table.
They need only two more wins to be crowned Champions.
That will be their first top-flight title in the English Premier League in 30 years.
“You want to give those players and the whole staff the moment they worked so hard for, if that’s what happens. Yes, we would try and do it, unless it wasn’t possible because of safety concerns,” says Masters.
Premier League clubs are resuming training today, May 19, for a possible restart of the season come June 12, 2020.
Liverpool are expected to return to training this week after having been given the all-clear by the Premier League.
