A number of Zimbabwean opposition Members of Parliament (MPs) have been arrested following violent protests.
MPs Job Sikhala and Godfrey Sithole were among a number of individuals arrested in connection with the protest.
The MPs belonging to the opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) party were arrested for allegedly inciting public violence relating to the protests over the killing of an opposition member in Chitungwiza near the capital, Harare.
Their party announced their arrest in a Tweet, accusing the Zimbabwean Government of weaponising state institutions.
Moreblessing Ali – a member of the opposition party – severed remains were found in a well, about three weeks after she was reported missing.

The Zimbabwean police confirmed the arrest of Job Sikhala, accusing him of being connected to “orgy of public violence” in Nyatsime area, Chitungwiza – about 30km (18 miles) from the capital, Harare.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirms that Job Sikhala has been arrested in connection with the orgy of public violence which occurred in Nyatsime area, Chitungwiza this afternoon. More details to follow.
