Petrol prices in Ghana are being reduced to offer some relief to consumers in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
State Oil Marketing Company, GOIL on Thursday, April 2, this year, announced a major reduction in its petrol price by a margin of 10 percent.
With the reduction Diesel XP is now selling at Ghc 4.32 and Super XP at Ghc 4.32, respectively.
Major parts of Ghana namely Kumasi, Accra, Tema, are in the fourth day of their two weeks partial lockdown due to the outbreak of coronavirus.
Ghana as at April 1, 2020 had recorded a total of 195 confirmed cases of coronavirus, with five deaths.
Gas price in Ghana is also on the decline.
Duncan Amoah, is the Chief Executive Officer of the Chamber of Petroleum Consumers in Ghana (COPEC Ghana), and he has been praising the OMC for the price reduction.
