Africa’s most populous nation is struggling to contain the deadly virus.
Confirmed Covid-19 cases in Nigeria are now 1,273.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control made this known in a tweet on its official website.
“As at 11:50pm 26th April- 1273 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria,” it tweeted.
It reported some 93 new cases of coronavirus.
The Centre says coronavirus related deaths have increased to 40 in Nigeria.
It further tweeted that 239 persons who were on treatment for the virus have been discharged.
