In a powerful show of civic resistance, the No Kings movement mobilized millions across the United States on Saturday, organizing over 2,000 protests in every state.

Timed with the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army and former President Donald Trump’s 79th birthday, the protests rejected rising authoritarianism, billionaire-first politics, and what many see as the militarization of American democracy.

Protesters flooded major cities, including New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta, and Chicago, holding signs that read “No Kings in a Democracy” and “Power to the People.” Organizers described the movement as a peaceful pushback against symbolic and systemic overreach, including recent ICE raids and political grandstanding.

Many viewed the Washington military parade as a tone-deaf celebration amid deepening national divides.

Analysts say the movement could influence upcoming political cycles as Americans continue to voice frustration over unchecked power and inequality.
