“Miley Cyrus has announced her ninth studio album, “Something Beautiful,” set for release on May 30, 2025, via Columbia Records.
The announcement, made on March 25th, was accompanied by the album’s artwork, which features Cyrus draped in archival 1997 Thierry Mugler couture, posing against a backdrop suggestive of the moon and night sky.
The album, consisting of 13 original tracks, is executive-produced by Cyrus and Shawn Everett. The artwork, captured by renowned fashion photographer Glen Luchford, is intended to reflect the album’s “bold aesthetic and visual storytelling,” as stated by Cyrus in her Instagram post.
In a November 2024 interview with Harper’s BAZAAR, Cyrus revealed that “Something Beautiful” was inspired by Pink Floyd’s “The Wall.” She recounted watching the film as a teenager and aiming to create a similar concept, but with “a better wardrobe and more glamorous and filled with pop culture.”
This new release follows Cyrus’s successful 2023 album, “Endless Summer Vacation,” which featured the Grammy-winning hit “Flowers.” Prior to that, her discography includes “Meet Miley Cyrus,” “Breakout,” “Can’t Be Tamed,” “Bangerz,” “Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz,” “Younger Now,” and “Plastic Hearts.”
Since her last album, Cyrus has collaborated with Beyoncé on the Grammy-winning track “II Most Wanted” from “Cowboy Carter.” She also made notable appearances at the “SNL50: The Anniversary Special” in February, where she performed a duet of Sinéad O’Connor’s “Nothing Compares 2 U” with Brittany Howard, as well as Queen’s “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” and her own hit, “Flowers.” During her SNL appearance, Cyrus engaged with the audience, playfully interacting with Paul Rudd and encouraging the crowd to sing along.”
