Richard Wayne Penniman, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2020, at age 87.
Little Richard was an American singer born December 5, 1932.
He composed songs including Good Golly Miss Molly; Rip It Up, Long Tall Sally.
In a tweet, Mrs Obama says “With his exuberance, his creativity, and his refusal to be anything other than himself, Little Richard laid the foundation for generations of artists to follow.”
She added that “We are so lucky to have had him. Sending all my love to his family and friends today.”
