Margaret
Margaret Mwintuur Dery from Upper West is Miss Ghana 2017. The University of Development Studies undergrad takes over the crown from 2016 winner Afua Asieduwaa Akrofi, and also walked home with laurels for Miss Talent, and Beauty with a Purpose.
Held in commemoration of Ghana’s diamond jubilee, the Grand Finale, Charity Ball & Honorary Awards, which came off at the Banquet Hall of Ghana’s State House also saw Priscilla Nana Akua Gameli (Eastern Region) and Marigold Frimpong (Ashanti Region) as 1st and 2nd runner-ups respectively.
Compered by broadcaster Nathaniel Attoh, it was graced by former Tourism Minister Dzifa Gomashie, former Accra Mayor Alfred Oko Vanderpuije, as well as beauty queens from across the globe, including Miss Hungary 2016, Timea Gelencser, Miss Cameroon – Sandra Minkata, Miss Guinea – Asmao Diallo, Miss Nigeria – Winfrey Okolo, Miss Gabon – Constant Abessolo and Miss Senegal – Aissatou Fall.
Sherifa Gunu and saxophonist Steve Bedi thrilled the audience.
