Jonathan Mensah
Eric Bekoe has singled out American-based Columbus Crew captain Jonathan Mensah as the most difficult defender he had to deal with in the Ghana Premier League as a striker.
The former Ghana Premier League goal king revealed that he came across many top defenders, but had a tough time against the former FIFA U-20 World Cup winner and Black stars central defender.
Bekoe faced Mensah, who was then an Ashantigold defender in the Ghana Premier League in the 2007/08 season, the season he won the Golden Boot.
According to Eric Bekoe, he was in a very top form in the 2007/2008 season and firing past top defenders except Mensah.
“Jonathan Mensah is the best defender I played against in the Ghana Premier League, the dude is a very intelligent defender,” he said.
The 33-year old had an excellent season in the 2007/08 by winning the Ghana Premier League and the FA Cup under coach Bashiru Hayford.
