Ghanaian artists and ex-convicts, Charles Nii Armah popularly known as Shatta Wale and Samuel Adu Frimpong otherwise known as Medikal, are set to hold what could be the biggest musical concert in Ghana this December.
The duo are to perform at their ‘Freedom Concert.’
As at the time of filing this report African Entertainment had not come across any official date set for the concert.
But an art work shared by Shatta Wale on his Instagram page and sighted by African Entertainment show that the concert will take place at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Accra Sports Stadium has a seating capacity of about 40,000. It is one of the biggest stadia in Ghana.
The concert is coming few weeks after Shatta Wale and Medikal were remanded into the Ankaful Medium Prison in the Central Region of Ghana and later released.
Shatta Wale had been remanded in October 2021 for a death prank after reports that he had allegedly been shot by unknown gunmen. The death prank was based on a prophesy by a self-styled prophet, Jesus Ahuofe who says Shatta Wale was going to be shot dead before the end of this year.
Medikal had on October 21, 2021 gone to an Accra Circuit Court to lend Shatta Wale moral support as the ‘Already’ crooner stood trial for the death prank.
A day later, Medikal was arrested after a video showing him brandishing a gun surfaced online. He was subsequently placed before court and remanded for five days.
Since their release from prison, African Entertainment has seen posts from Shatta Wale and Medikal both sharing their experiences while in cell and urging their fans not to do anything negative that might land them in jail.
