Grammy wait: Gramps Morgan waited for 25 years
Member of legendary Reggae band, Gramps Morgan has revealed the number of years it took Morgan Heritage to win the 2016 Grammy Award at Staples Center in Los Angeles – a strong twenty-five years wait. According to him, “we never bothered about accolades, we loved what we were doing, we never asked where is our BET and the rest. We just believed that one day; awards will come, one day we shall be rewarded for our passion.” He added.
He went on to tell those around at his Music Clinic hosted in Accra recently, that industry players should learn to applaud others who are soaring higher, so that they would be applauded in the future too.
Before signing out, he quickly hinted that one of the main reasons why some Ghanaian acts are not doing well was because they lack managers. He said that every artiste needs social media before a manager; referring to the fact that since the world is a global village fast on a lane whereby if care isn’t taken, you will be left behind.
