“We will be coming to meet you in your, towns, in your villages, in your districts, in your clans, and in your cities, so that together, we can build a strong partnership for Liberia’s progress,” the Liberian leader noted during the delivering of his 6th and final SONA on Monday January 30, 2023.

Regardless of political affiliations, religious beliefs, or ethnic origins, the Liberian leader urge everyone  to join him together to wrestle back the years lost to civil conflict and war, and help restore the  Country to its rightful place in the comity of nations, to a higher place of peace and prosperity for all, “We can do this, and we must all do it together.”

President Weah stressed that considering from the visible gains made thus far under his leadership in five years in delivering on most of the promises he has made his people, while preserving the nation’s peace and nurturing its democratic values, he can ably complete his mission if given his second mandate from the people, something he is certain will be done by the overwhelming support of the people in October of 2023.

According to him, Liberia is on an irreversible trajectory of sustainable growth that will necessarily and inevitably lead the Country to progress as a Nation and prosperity as a People.

“When we came before you to ask you for our first mandate, we promised to bring you Change for Hope.  Now, after going with you on the journey thus far, you have seen the Change.  We now want to assure you that this is the Change That You Can Count On”, he noted.

He pointed out that the challenge and legacy that he would like to leave for the younger generation, is that they should not just FEEL leadership, but that they  should also CLAIM it..

The Chief Executive used the occasion to encourage and admonish Liberians to Seize the Day, Seize the Moment and Seize the Opportunity because according to him, This is their  time, and “This is OUR time”, he added.

At the same time, he assured Liberians that the State of the Nation is strong, stable, vibrant, youthful, peaceful, secured stating that it needs to be kept in such way.

President Weah admonished Liberians that as they get prepare to go to the polls in October of 2023, they should uphold and maintain the hard-won democracy.

“Let us conduct ourselves in a lawful and orderly way, so that the voices of the people will be heard, and the will of the Liberian people will prevail; because, as it is often said:   the voice of the people is the voice of God”, he added.
