At just 22 years old, P.Priime has become one of the most sought-after producers in the Afrobeats scene. Known for his catchy producer tags “P!” and “Giddem,” his talent, hard work, and innovative sound have set him apart, making him a favorite for some of the biggest artists in the industry.
Growing up in Lagos, Nigeria, in a family full of music lovers, P’s siblings were in the church choir, and everyone had to learn how to play an instrument. For P.Priime, it was the drums and piano. “The church really influenced who I am today,” he says. That early exposure to music laid the foundation for his incredible career.
As a product of the Sarz Academy, attending it was such a big turning point for P.Priime. The Sarz created music program was there that he met his manager and mentor, Sarz, who played a big role in shaping his career. “I’m grateful for the Sarz Academy because it definitely contributed to what I have become,” he shares.
P.Priime’s beats stand out, and so do his producer tags—“P!” and “Giddem.” He came up with “P!” thanks to his friend HushMix, who shouted his name during a freestyle in the studio. For “Giddem,” it started as part of a beat pack he made for Olamide. The artist loved it so much he encouraged P.Priime to keep using it. These tags are now instantly recognizable in his songs.
Despite his young age, P.Priime has already produced Grammy nominated hits, and some of the biggest songs in Afrobeats. Tracks like “Bandana” by Fireboy DML and Asake and “Electricity” by Pheelz and Davido showcase his ability to create hits that dominate charts and connect with fans.
For P.Priime, every song takes effort. “I’m a semi-perfectionist,” he says. “The song has to sound right in my ears.” Some of his favorite creations include “Anoti” by Wizkid and “Ozumba Mbadiwe” by Reekado Banks. “Ozumba Mbadiwe is one of those crazy songs for me,” he admits.
P.Priime’s success comes from his ability to innovate while staying true to himself. He loves using the guitar in his music because it adds emotion and depth. “The guitar just hits the soul,” explains, the prolific producer.
Despite his busy schedule, P.Priime stays grounded by focusing on life’s simple joys. “Seeing my people happy really makes me happy,” he says. His dedication to growth, both as a producer and as a person, is one of the reasons he continues to thrive.
