PM Boris Johnson and Queen Elizabeth II
It is a very grim situation for the United Kingdom, says Britain’s National Health Service (NHS) as the country records 900 new coronavirus related deaths within 24 hrs.
NHS revealed this on Thursday, April 9, 2020, in a post on its official Twitter handle.
NHS says the new deaths have increased the country’s death toll to over 8,000.
“UK now has the 5th highest death toll in the world, and is hurtling towards being highest in Europe. Very grim.”
Britain reportedly has over 60,000 confirmed cases.
One of the cases involves its Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, who has been in intensive care in a Central London hospital since Monday evening, April 6.
