Ghana’s Music Industry Sinking – Says Ras Kuuku In New Peace Song

Ras Kuuku

Ghanaian award-winning reggae musician, Ras Kuuku, has released a new peace song.

The song title: ‘Kaji Ko’ is in sharp response to ongoing fights among a number of top Ghanaian artists.

Rappers Sarkodie and Asem have been dissing each other over the past few days even in the wake of coronavirus in Ghana where a lot of people are worried about their lives.

Ras Kuuku, in an exclusive interview with African Entertainment, says he was channeling his “lockdown energy into promoting peace among feuding Ghanaian artistes.”

In “Kaji Ko”, he begged the Ghanaian music industry players to intervene and call a truce among his fellow artistes who are dropping diss songs and unsavory comments against each other on air and on social media.

Asem in his diss song accused Sarkodie of using fraudulent means to win his BET awards.

Sarkodie had earlier released a song titled “Sub Zero” which musicians including Shatta Wale considered as a diss song targeting other musicians.

But Ras Kuuku in his new peace song, wondered why instead of Ghanaian artists supporting one another, they continue to fight among themselves.

He bemoaned that Ghana Music is sinking, asking big men in the industry and corporate bodies to rescue the sector.

In the song he shared with African Entertainment, he says the industry is a “music thing, and not fighting thing and not dissing thing.”

He stated that the industry has been taken over by ‘beefing thing’ instead of being an area for talents.

The rastafarian musician stated that “music is good for the soul” but appears the spirit for music in Ghana is dying and violence is taking over the industry.
