Ghana’s dancehall singer Shatta Wale Fined Ghc 2,000 for making fake death claim

Ghanaian dancehall musician has been fined Ghc 2000 for publishing fake news.

Shatta Wale was fined by an Accra Circuit Court for falsely claiming in October 2021 that he had been shot dead.

According to the Court, failure on the part of Shatta Wale to pay the fine will lead to him serving three months in jail.

Shatta Wale had claimed in a post on social media last year that he had been shot dead.

He made the publication after a self-styled prophet prophecised that he (Shatta Wale) was going to be shot dead.
