Ghana’s Coronavirus Continues To Spread; 254,331 Tested

Ghana’s President Nana Akufo-Addo has revealed that coronavirus cases in Ghana continue to spread.

According to him, so far Ghana has tested 254,331 with the country now recording 11,964 confirmed cases.

He says active cases are 7,652, adding that six persons critically ill, three persons on ventilators.

The President said Ghana has one of the highest testing rates in Africa.

He noted however that the increase in cases indicate that the virus has spread and continue to spread.

Pay Attention To Your Health

The President encouraged Ghanaians to pay serious attention to their health as coronavirus spreads across the country.

He urged them to seek immediate medical service if they start to experience certain health conditions.

He noted that there is nothing shameful to testing positive.

He reiterated his call on Ghanaians to eat healthy food.

He particularly urged residents of Greater Accra, and Ashanti Region to pay serious attention to their health.

“Our survival is in our own hands,” he said.

He noted that overcoming the virus will require each and every Ghanaian taking responsibility of their health and respecting the safety protocols of the coronavirus.

Schools Reopen

President Nana Akufo-Addo indicated that the coronavirus pandemic cannot make the country to turn blind eyes to the issue of social justice.

He stated the education of Ghanaian students ought to be protected.

That, he said, is because the future of Ghana rests on the education of its children.

He made this known as he delivered his 11th address on the management of coronavirus in the country.

He stated that a total 600,000 face masks have been distributed to tertiary institutions to enable students, teachers and non teaching staff to have access reusable face masks.

He added that 200,000 liters of hand sanitizers, among other things, have also been distributed to the tertiary schools.

He urged the students who are resuming school tomorrow to ensure personal hygiene, ensure social distancing.
