Ghana’s Confirmed Coronavirus Cases Pass 200 Threshold

Confirmed cases of coronavirus in Ghana are continuing on a rising path even as the country takes desperate to overcome the pandemic.

From just two confirmed cases initially recorded on March 12, this year, confirmed cases in Ghana as at April 2, 2020 were 204.

The country is gradually becoming overwhelmed by the pandemic, with its President taking some drastic measures including border closures, ban on public gatherings and a two weeks partial lockdown in some cities including the national capital, Accra and the country’s second biggest city, Kumasi.

As at April 1, the total confirmed cases were 195.

The West African nation’s Health Service has confirmed the latest infections figures.

So far there are five recorded deaths due to the virus according to official reports by the Ghana Health Service sighted by African Entertainment.


According to the Ghana Health Service, 10 individuals under quarantine in the country’s Northern Regional Capital of Tamale are responding to treatment.

It says out of those under mandatory quarantine in Accra, 48 were responding to treatment.

Two out of the 115 cases which falls under routine surveillance are in critical condition, it says.
