Dr. Owusu Afriye Akoto
The Minister of Food and Agriculture of Ghana, Dr. Owusu Afriye Akoto, has reportedly resigned.
African Entertainment has reliably received confirmation that Dr. Afriyie Akoto tendered his resignation letter to President Nana Akufo-Addo on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 after a meeting at the Jubilee House, the seat of Government in Ghana.
Few days ago, the Minister of Trade and Industry, Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, also resigned to pursue his Presidential ambition.
Dr. Afriyie Akoto is also believed to have resigned in order to pursue his Presidential ambition.
Both Dr. Afriyie Akoto and Mr. Kyerematen are seeking to contest in the upcoming Presidential Primaries of the ruling New Patriotic Party.
NPP is expected to hold its Presidential Primaries later this year to elect a suitable candidate to replace incumbent President Akufo-Addo and lead them into the 2024 Presidential election.
