The President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo, is set to address his nation once again.
On Sunday, October 30, 2022, the President will be addressing the nation on the state of the Ghanaian economy.
His address is scheduled to begin at 8pm.
Ghana’s economy has been in disarray in recent weeks, witnessing high inflation which hovers around 37.2 percent, as well as high cost of living.
There have been calls by Members of Parliament from the President’s own ruling New Patriotic Party to have his Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, sacked in a bid to restore investor confidence.
But the President in a meeting with the 80 Members of Parliament on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, pleaded for more time to be given Mr. Ofori-Atta so he can complete the International Monetary Fund negotiations. Ghana is seeking a $3 billion bailout from the IMF to save its economy from total collapse.
