A Ghanaian man has reportedly killed himself by electrocution.
Former President John Mahama says the man in question is called Kakra.
In a post sighted by www.africanentertainment.com on Mr. Mahama’s official Facebook page, Kakra killed himself by electrocution apparently over hardship in Ghana.
Mr. Mahama says “I returned from a trip to hear the sad news of Kakra who killed himself by electrocution.”
He added that “The current levels of hardship in Ghana is dire and probably the worst we have ever experienced in the last three decades, but suicide is never the answer.”
He stated that “Even in the darkest night, there will always come the dawn.”
“The sun will rise again. Let’s be each others keeper. Let’s keep hope alive!”
Ghana has been facing severe economic challenges over the last few months. The country continues to record skyrocketing inflation, with its consumer price inflation rate now standing around 37.2 percent per a report by tye Ghana Statistical Service.
The continuous depreciation of the Ghana Cedi has also been a major trouble for many Ghanaians. The Ghana Cedi now trades around Ghc 12.60 to $1.
