To celebrate World’s Jollof Rice Day (22nd August), a Jollof rice festival held in the capital of Ghana and you won’t believe what country took home the price.
According to videos and reports making the round, the competition which involved individuals representing various African countries, preparing their country’s style of Jollof rice, ended with Gambia emerging first, Nigeria second and Ghana third.
The appalling part of this post is it has been a matter of national debate which country’s Jollof rice is better between Ghana and Nigeria. Now, Gambia which was never even in the fight has swept the champion’s cup. See video:
