Frmr Pres. Sirleaf Vows Not To Campaign For Candidate, Political Party In 2023 Elections

Liberia’s former President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has vowed not to campaign for any Candidate or Political Party in the country’s pending 2023 Presidenttial and Legislative Elections.

Speaking Thursday, October 6, 2022 on the State Broadcast (ELBC) in Paynesville, Madam Sirleaf said she is more focused on International activities as such, she cannot over burden herself.

According to her, she has gone beyond campaigning for candidates and political parties in Liberia, thereby lamenting that her strength last in campaigning for international institutions and not Liberia politics.

She further that though Liberia is doing well democratically; the political environment of the Country needs to be strengthened by all citizens, adding that it is the only way to meet international standards.

Commenting on the recnet three sanctioned Government Officials by the US States Department, the country’s former head of state cautioned the three officials to immediately solve their problems with the United States Government so as to avoid further embarrassment for the Country.

She boosted that she has built a strong relationship with the United States Government and as such; the three sanctioned government officials need not to destroy said relationship, as it also might somehow affect the Weah led-government or future administration.

Meanwehile, Madam Sirleaf is at the same time urging all Liberians to respect the office of the Country’s presidency, stressing that it is the office that stands for the Country and people globally.
