Ice Prince
Nigerian rapper, Ice Prince, has spoken about the importance of freedom after he was released from prison.
The rapper had been detained for allegedly attacking a Nigerian police officer.
A statement released by
the spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, had indicated that the rapper abducted and threatened to throw an officer into the river after he was stopped for driving without a license.
The statement released via Twitter read: “At 3 am today, @Iceprincezamani was stopped for driving without license plates. He agreed to be taken to the station. He, thereafter, abducted the police officer in his car, assaulted him and threatened to throw him in the river. He has been arrested and would be arraigned today.”
Ice Prince was subsequently
arraigned and remanded at the Ikoyi Prison.
Later, he was released from prison after posting 500 000 naira bail ordered by the court with the help of two sureties.
In his tweet sighted by www.africanentertainment.com following his release, Ice Prince said simply “Freedom is priceless.”
