Texan Phiri
Ex-Green Buffaloes and Profound Warriers player, Texan Phiri, has been reported dead.
The Zambian footballer who later became a coach after retiring from active football, was aged 64.
Phiri played for the Buffaloes from 1975 to 1980.
He later joined Profound now known as Napsa Stars. He spent nine season’s with Napsa Stars, moving on to coach the club.
After his spell with Napsa Stars, he joined BOZ FC, moving to eSwatini and Botswana later to coach.
He returned to Zambia in 2019 to coach Eastlands Football Academy in Livingstone.
Reports say he is survived by a wife, Prisca, one child and four grandchildren.
