Food Prices Are Too High – Ghanaian Actor Weeps

Ghanaian actor, Yaw Dabo, has expressed sadness at the attitude of some sellers who have “inflated” the prices of food during this COVID-19 outbreak in Ghana.

According to him, the cost of food items in the market is preposterous.

Food items which were sold at GHC5 are currently been sold for 15 to 20 Ghana cedis, he alleged.

He commended President Nana Akufo-Addo for absorbing charges on water and electricity tariffs in other to cushion the economic burden on the people.

As the country experiences a lockdown, a directive given to battle the Coronavirus pandemic, the prices of food have increased massively.

This he said calls for immediate attention.

He has therefore, made a passionate appeal to the president and other authorities to resolve this food situation.

“Share this video until it gets to the President and all other stakeholders in our country. Something needs to be done about these issues with all urgency because we cannot continue like this. President has given us free water and also subsidized our light for us but there’s one thing which we need to make the government take note of and that’s the price for foodstuff in this country. The market women have increased their prices to the highest levels and that has made life unbearable because we cannot buy food. Mr. President please you need to do something about it for us,” he urged.
