Nigerian rapper and activist Falz has publicly condemned President Bola Tinubu following the gruesome massacre of over 200 people in Benue State. The outspoken entertainer took to social media to blast what he described as the president’s inadequate response to the crisis.

“You Have Failed in Your Primary Duty” — Falz

In a scathing post, Falz stated that Tinubu has “consistently shown” an inability to fulfill the constitutional duty of safeguarding citizens. He wrote:

“You have consistently shown that you are incapable of performing the primary duty of securing lives and property of your citizens. This routine statement does not cut it.”

Over 200 Lives Lost in Benue — Yet Silence

The rapper further decried the apparent national apathy toward the killings in Benue, where entire communities were reportedly burnt alive. Falz questioned why Nigerians remain largely indifferent to such a tragedy, writing:

“Over 200 senselessly slain and burnt alive in Benue and this is not even getting close to enough attention. Why are we so wicked to ourselves?”

– Falz

The rapper’s comments come shortly after the Federal Government declared a state of emergency in Rivers State over political tensions, a move Falz also criticized as misplaced when the country faces dire security challenges elsewhere.

Celebrities as Voices for Change

Falz has long been known for his bold stance on socio-political issues, notably playing a leading role during the #EndSARS protests. His latest comments reinforce the growing sentiment among Nigerian youths demanding accountability and action, not just speeches, from the government.

As Nigerians continue to grapple with insecurity and governance concerns, Falz’s voice is yet another reminder that silence is no longer an option.
