An ex-Generations actress, Latoya Makhene, is said to have been scammed.
In a post sighted by www.africanentertainment.com on Facebook, the actress was said to have been scammed an amount of R8000.00 by a self-styled event organizer.
The event organizer is said to have approached Latoya, promising to give her a gig that was going to pay her a good amount of money.
The gig was for Latoya to attend the birthday celebration of Dr. Shauwn Mkhize, but she allegedly ended up being scammed.
A Facebook user Mandla Zondi who made this known says Latoya Makhene was asked to pay upfront an amount of R8000.00 after she was sent a fraudulent proof of payment confirmation into her bank account.
Zondi added that: “Generation actress got scammed R8000.00. She says she received a call from someone who intended to hire her to appear at KwaMamkhize’s birthday celebration which was taking place at Max’s Lifestyle, where they promised to pay her R30 000.00 plus R8000.00 for transportation”.
